Dom Ruinart 1998 is a tribute to Chardonnay, assembled using Grands Crus Chardonnay grapes exclusively from the Côte des Blancs (66%) and
the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims (34%) the historic soil for Maison Ruinart assemblages.
The first aromas are classically elegant, with refined mineral notes joined
by fruits from a bountiful orchard composed of greengage, peach, pear, kumquat, bergamot and mango, followed by wafts of fresh pastry and
acacia honey, a foretaste of sweetness and rich aromas.
On the palate, the wine is silky, with balance and an infinitely long finish.
Dom Ruinart 1998 is a tribute to the Ruinart Taste.
From flute to plate
Delicate and refined, excellent with fish and seafood.Lobster terrine with crispy vegetables, roast John Dory with a lemon mousseline sauce, scallop risotto or even tempura and sea bass sashimi.
With additional cellaring, for 10 to 20 years,
a wealth of new, aromas evolve which make for an exceptional pairing with white meats
and poultry in sauce.
Chardonnay,
the golden thread running through
the Ruinart Taste
The Chardonnay is the very soul of Ruinart. The grape, mainly harvested from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne
de Reims terroirs, is at the heart of all our cuvées.
With its fresh aromas, vivacity, purity and luminosity, the Chardonnay
is the essence of all our cuvées.
The delicate, fragile Chardonnay will only display the full breadth of its aromatic richness after a slow maturation in the coolness of the Crayères
(our chalk cellars): up to 3 years for non-vintage wines, and 9 to
10 years for a Dom Ruinart.
This maturation is a test of our Cellar Master's skill, required to tame
the capriciousness of this grape unlike any other.
Brightness, intensity and elegance: in the combination of these unique
traits resides the miracle that is called the "Ruinart Taste": an exclusive personality, truly in a class of its own.
