The 2012 Gigondas has filled out through the middle since I tasted it last year. Exhibiting a perfumed, exotic bouquet of plum, white pepper, licorice and hints of meatiness, it has classic Gigondas tannin, good texture and a lengthy finish. Like the 2011, it will drink reasonably well on release and then drink well for a decade. Jeb Dunnuck.
